Pasta maker steps in to help fire victims

Italpasta is donating food to help Slave Lake, Alta. residents


Brampton, Ont. – Italpasta Limited, makers of premium pasta products, has partnered with the Athabasca Good Samaritan Mission to donate food to the residents of Slave Lake, Alta. whose homes were destroyed by fire.

The Good Samaritan Mission is one of the locations where residents displaced by the fire are currently living.

“We are fortunate here in Canada to be able to thrive and flourish and must remember to give back to our fellow Canadians when in need,” says Italpasta founder and CEO Joe Vitale. “The losses Slave Lake families are enduring are truly tragic, and my heart and prayers go out to them.”

Italpasta is donating 264 cases of spaghetti, 110 cases of elbow macaroni, and 96 cases of macaroni and cheese to shelter residents. The entire donation totals more than 10,000 lbs of pasta product, an amount that will continue to provide assistance to residents once they are placed in temporary dwellings by the provincial government.
