Ontario meat processor expands

Guelph, Ont. – Walnut Hill Farm is using some financial help from the province to expand and renovate its facilities.

With help from Ontario’s Rural Economic Development Program, the seventh-generation business, which provides specialty beef and pork products to restaurants, butcher shops and retailers in Ontario, will:

• double the company’s production capacity;
• double its annual sales to $1.3 million;
• renovate its facility and expand its production line, smoke house and curing capacity; and
• create more opportunities for local farmers.
