Food division of A. G. Simmonds and Sons consolidates, moves to 350,000-sq.-ft. plant


Toronto, Ont. – A. G. Simmonds and Sons Inc. (formerly BLVD Holdings Inc.) has announced that its food division, Mozaic Brands Corp, will move into a new 350,000-sq.-ft. processing, distribution and freezer facility in Brampton, Ont.

 

“Mozaic Brands has spent the past year consolidating our food business for the international and ethnic market segments,” says John G. Simmonds, chairman and CEO of A. C. Simmonds and Sons Inc. “We are now centralizing approximately 50 per cent of our production, distribution and freezer capacity into one easily accessible facility that we plan to deploy to take full advantage of economies of scale.”

The new building includes 41,029-sq.-ft. of freezer and cooler space, and is located near to Pearson International Airport. “Mozaic Brands has established partnerships with international food retail clients,” adds Simmonds. “Our proximity to a leading international airport is a key element in our food distribution strategy as we continue to expand our markets.”
