Excellence Canada announces the winners of its Canada Awards for Excellence; Lassonde receives gold in the Healthy Workplace category


Toronto – Excellence Canada recognized 29 Canadian organizations with its Canada Awards for Excellence and only one company on the list this year was a food manufacturer.

Lassonde Industries Inc. of Rougemont, Que. received the Gold Trophy – Healthy Workplace award. All the awards were presented on Nov. 2 in Toronto. The Healthy Workplace award, presented by Great-West Life, is based on Excellence Canada’s Canadian Healthy Workplace Framework developed in partnership with Health Canada and in association with professionals from the health and wellness sectors.

Jean Gattuso, COO of Lassonde, says the award celebrates a corporate culture “of which we are very proud. We share this honour with all our employees, as it really belongs to them. Our corporate culture is based on innovation and excellence and, in our current competitive landscape, our employees are our most precious asset, forming Lassonde’s very backbone. We are strongest together and aim to stay healthy, just like our consumers.”

The annual Canada Awards for Excellence go to organizations that demonstrate an outstanding performance in categories that include Excellence, Innovation & Wellness, Quality, Healthy Workplace, and Mental Health at Work.
