Dairy co-operative aims to raise brand awareness

Longueuil, Que. – Dairy producer Agropur wants to get noticed. The Quebec-based co-operative has launched an extensive advertising campaign to raise awareness of its many milk, cheese and yogurt brands.

Agropur processes more than three billion litres of milk per year, with annual sales of $3.6 billion. The co-operative has 3,349 dairy producer members, and 27 processing plants across Canada, the U.S. and Argentina. Some of its top brands include Naturel, Québon, OKA, Sealtest and Island Farms.

Yet many Canadians are unaware of the company behind the brands. “Agropur has been providing a wide range of healthy and innovative products to consumers across the country for almost 75 years,” says Natacha Gouveia, senior advisor, Public Relations and Communications for Agropur. “Our goal with this campaign is to let consumers know that behind their favourite milk, yogurt and cheese brand is a group of proud dairy producers who are passionate about what they have to offer.”

Starting this month the company’s message will appear on billboards and posters in Vancouver and Toronto featuring slogans such as “Ever noticed us?” Other initiatives include sample giveaways and the transformation of some downtown elevators to include a “360 degree profile of the organization and its complete line of dairy products” sold in Canada.
