The Street Smart seminar originated in 1999 and was created by Ontario Food Exports (OFEX) to help connect Ontario suppliers to U.S. and international buyers. The event provides an opportunity for suppliers to showcase their products and meet buyers from the U.S. and key international markets. Street Smart has resulted in tens of millions of dollars in exports to the U.S. from Ontario food and beverage suppliers.
The event takes place over two days and consists of a meet and greet with OFEX, networking opportunities and tabletop set-up in preparation for the tabletop event itself on the second day. Street Smart aims to provide Ontario food and beverage companies with an overall, well-rounded experience as well as exposure to possible buyer relationships.
New this year is the inaugural Street Smart Workshop, scheduled for September 9, 2014. This workshop is designed to provide Ontario Street Smart participants with the tools and information they need to prepare for the main event. The workshop will address how to make successful buyer presentations, develop effective branding/marketing strategies, and will provide the opportunity to participate in a mock buyer session.
