Heritage Frozen Foods Ltd. has launched a new line of perogies called CHEEMO Perogies – Unconventional Perogies.
And they’re all about fusion – blending international foods. The first product to hit grocery store shelves under the new Unconventional Perogies brand is South Asian Style Curry.
It’s a vegetarian perogy filled with a savoury and delicately spiced curried potato, with cheese, carrots and cilantro.
The idea behind the launch is to reflect Canada’s multi-cultural society, says the company. The Unconventional brand represents how Canada’s changing ethnic landscape is influencing consumers’ interest in international cuisine.
