A Canadian-owned tequila called Siempre Tequila Plata is now available on shelves across Ontario through the LCBO.
Alex Lacroix and Monica Sanita are the Toronto couple behind Siempre. Both have backgrounds in the food industry, but left their jobs to pursue distilling full-time.
The tequila, says the company, is made in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico from 100 per cent weber agave, and is distributed by Woodman Wine & Spirits. The distiller is Agustin Sanchez Rodriquez, who processes the beverage in a 150-year-old distillery.
Siempre Tequila Plata is described as having a peppery scent with fresh agave and a hint of cotton candy. On the palate, “it tastes soft, sweet and savoury with an exceptionally smooth spiced pineapple finish.”
The tequila has a suggested retail price of $69.95.
